Project Overview

Robust Consulting Engineers was appointed by Sasol Gas to provide construction management services for the rehabilitation of a strategic gas pipeline crossing beneath a major public road in Johannesburg. The project formed part of Sasol Gas’s ongoing infrastructure maintenance programme to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of South Africa’s natural gas transmission network.

The works required the replacement and rehabilitation of a section of pipeline located beneath a busy roadway while maintaining public safety, minimising disruption to road users and ensuring the integrity of both the pipeline and the reconstructed road infrastructure. The Challenge
